The Adult Education Guidance Initiative, known as AEGI, provides information, advice and guidance to adults who are considering education or training. It is not a recruitment service. The starting point is the person's own goals.
What guidance can help with
- Identifying interests, strengths and constraints.
- Understanding course levels and entry requirements.
- Comparing full time, part time and online options.
- Planning a route to further study or employment.
- Finding funding, childcare or learner support.
- Building confidence about returning to learning.
How a session works
An appointment usually lasts about an hour. The adviser listens, asks questions and helps the person map out options. Information is provided on courses, application dates and support services. Follow up may be offered where it would help.

Guidance is private. Notes are kept to support the work and are handled under data protection law. Nothing is shared with a course provider without your agreement.
